View Full Version : 2000 camry blowing fuse

2000 camry, thought it was the brake light switch, but it is the fuse. Changed fuse and it blew again, manual says its for shift safety switch, cruise control, back light brake... any ideas

Do you use the trunk a lot? We see cars like these with broken wire harnesses in the trunk.
If you can see the small wire harness coming down the left trunk hinge, look for where it joins up with the bigger harness above the left rear wheel well.
This is where it bends a lot and the wires break and short each other.
You'll have to lay on your back inside the trunk and look up. You'll have to strip back some harness tape and sheathing to find it.

Well have not figured out how to work this site. Just wanted to say THANKS for the advice on the 2000 camry blown fuse. Just came from the kids trunk and its FIXED . It shifts and the brake lights work... yippee. Now I can park the tahoe and get my old taurus back from the kid. THANKS again...

What do I do in the trunk to the harness and wiring to fix it?
