I need help completeing the following school task.
Tesas textutirizing is a texturizer of polyester yarn. On June 1,2009 and inventory of 10,000 pounds was complete as to materials, but only three-quarters complete as to conversion. During the period,1600,000 pounds were completed. The inventory at the end of the period consisted of 40,000 pounds that were complete as to materials, but only one quartet complete as to conversion. Costs for materials and conversion are as follows:
Materials Conversion Total
Work in process, beginning $20,000 $5,000 $25,000 Current costs $ 100,000 $76,600 $216,000

Required: Prepare a cost of production report for Texas Texturing usind the weighted average method.

Process costing is not easy to help someone with if they don't understand it. It's a process with a lot of steps that would be extremely difficult to explain in a forum situation like this. It's not as bad in person on a piece of paper.

I don't know if it's any better than what you've got, but it's likely at least different. I also don't know if it's doing FIFO, average or both. (Sorry, I just dig them up - don't have time to read that entire textbook.) But if you can manage to understand one of them, there's not a great deal of adjustment to getting to the other method.

See what you can do with this. If you've already attempted it, post your work. (Attaching an Excel sheet is a good option.) Or if you're stuck some place in particular, ask specifically about that. But we do need to narrow this down somewhere.
