Our Kenmore Power Miser 70 main burner will not ignite. We cleaned the parts, we replaced the Gas valve and the coupler, and still no luck. Everything seems to be working. We get a flame, we get a clicking sound, and the fan will start to cycle the air, the only thing is the main burner does not ignite.

On most models you will check for 24 volts at the gas valve during operation. If no 24 volts you will have to trace the circuit back till you find the defective part.

BUT if there is 24 volts at the gas valve and the gas valve does not open then the gas valve is usually toast.

PS there is usually a knob or lever on the gas valve that has to be turned to on for the valve to activate. Many times a person will replace the thermocouple and get the pilot to work but they will forget to turn the valve to ON.
