My GE top freezer is leaking on the floor. The GE trouble shooting website says that it is probably a clogged freezer drain tube. It also says that I shoulkd contact a repair person. Is it that hard to access this drain tube? I would really like to repair this myself, so is it something the average guy could do with normal tools and skills?

It is a top freezer GE model GTH2 and it is only about 15 months old.

Thanks!

There are two types one has an external tube the other the tube is enclosed within the unit on the bottom of your unit front remove the grill pull it out gently it may be full of water empty and clean ues a flsh light to see the location of drain tube use a vacumn to clean the tube this will not work all of the time .

There is NO water in the pan under the fridge/behind the front grill.
