I assume you mean ballet dancers. If you are talking about written tests, no. But ANY dancer wishing to join a troupe or show, will have to audition. Generally dancers get invited to audition on the basis of their resumes; a list of their experience and training.

The difference between an arabesque or "arabianesque", I assume? :)

What precisely is "ill conceived?" One word simply denotes a common ballet move, the other points out the generally accepted origin of the latter style of dance. A sense of humor is a vital tool in life. ;)
No offence. :)

There are some schools of ballet that do have a rigid syllabus and regular testing. Once such is the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) based in England. RAD does have a school here in the US in California. I suggest visiting their website or googling for RAD. Most schools of ballet just monitor each students progress and advance them as necessary. If you want to prove that you are a professional dancer, you need to get out there and start auditioning and get into a dance company or two - that is the only way in the US to prove that you are a professional. It takes time and A lot of perserverance but if you really want to do it, it can be done. I'm not quite sure what you are looking for when you asked for exams for ballet dancers, but I hope that this answer will give you what you need.

No un less you have been dancing for a while, like if you are going to dance in the nutcracker yes but if it is just a normal class no.
