Fr_Chuck:

DON'T USE THE PRESSURE MARKED ON THE TIRE! That's the MAXIMUM pressure for the tire.

Usually on the trunk lid (best guess) or side door jamb, you will find the inflation pressures listed for YOUR car and the spare. There may be different pressures listed for the types of tires.

Tire pressures should be adjusted when the tires are cold. Tire gauges are cheap, even the digital ones. Nitogen is bet for your tires. There will be less rubber degradation over time.

READ your car manual CAREFULLY if you have tire pressure warning system on your car. There are two types: One uses the wheel sensors to look at the difference in the rotation of the wheels. The other uses actual transmitters in the tires.

Resetting of these systems can be real fun and sometimes expensive, sometimes.

I recommend 32 to 35 psi.
Tire pressure monitors, if equipped, are adjustable.
Have the alignment checked whenever you or your mechanic notices uneven wear.
Rotate your tires regularly.
