I had a baby not too long ago. I've been struggling with my breasts ever since. My nipples have very large dark areolas and bumps that were not there pre-pregnancy. I hope you can guide me in the right path to reduced such pigmentation and bumps and help me regain my confidence. Is there anyway to reduce my Montgomery tubercles and melanin level? I would really appreciate any help. You're website and the knowledge you provide is excellent and has helped me in many ways. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you.

How long ago did you have the baby? Are you breast feeding? These two factors can play a role in when your breasts will return to their pre-pregnancy appearance. There can be some slight differences, but most women will find after some time they are basically as they were before.

My baby will be two in April. And I'm not breastfeeding. So its been some time. Its not so much my breasts but my nipples. I just hate how dark my areolas are. Is there anything I can do about them? I've been applying lemon juice to them, I heard that can lighten pigmentation but it doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions? :(

Since your baby is almost two years old, it may just be the way they will stay. It is not uncommon for the color to remain a bit darker, but some women may experience this more so than others. Are you on the pill? This can sometimes result in some color change, even if it didn't effect you that way before pregnancy. Changes in hormones, due to having had a baby, age, etc. can cause some color darkening. There may not be anything you can do to change them, but if since they cause you concern, perhaps speaking with a dermatologist will give you some other ideas.
