Hello all,

I have a Lennox furnace about 9 years old. It is model number c23-46-1. Just today the combustion motor is making a light squeaking noise at start up. It's a little more pronounced at start up then fades. I removed the unit and could not find any issue. Is it going bad? Can you lubricate the unit before the problem is permanent? Any help is REALLY appreciated.

Usually if it is making a noise it is going to go all the way bad sooner than later. You might try to find a way to lube it but most if not all service people just replace the assembly unless the motor is available separate. If you take it apart make sure the housing is sealed well when putting back together.

Thanks for the advice. I plan to call about the part.
