I have a Dayton 1RKU2 Heater that I resently purshased for a fair amount. But then when I got home I noticed it was 480 volts. I would like to know if there is a way that I could change the voltage to 220 volts, or if they make a conversion kit for this.

Hvac1000's post makes more sense. I didn't realize it was 3 phase, but they use 240 V elements. Convertible, probably. Elements have to be put in parallel, probably by two's and the contactor coil may have to be changed. The contactor may have to be changed as well. Wiring may have to be made larger.

If the unit is converted to "220" volts, based upon using 208 volts 3 phase, it will draw more that the National Electric Code allows for a single electric unit heater'
The 480 volt fan motor also needs to be changed.
This unit will not be legal, nor will be the wiring or installation.
This unit cannot be converted, whether someone knows what they are doing, or not.

Not exactly, You have 3phase 480 volts Dayton model (something) for sale. You might also have 20/20 hindsight too and learned a valuable lesson.

For whatever it's worth, the heating elements in this are 480 volt. No way to make any conversion.

Johnm:
You didn't see this thread. It was also posted in HVAC where HVAC1000 posted a manual. The elements are 240. See or yourself.
