Opened the drawer, took out the dvd and it will not go back in. Just makes a whirring sound like it is trying. Turned power on off-no good. Poushed open/close, not good. Suggestions?

Most stuck open trays I encounter are due to either the tray being slipped past its stop or out of sync because of rough handling, a broken gear train, or a broken or slipped belt. All usually require removing the drive, disassembling it, and then finding and dealing with the specific problem which usually isn't worth the time investment given the cost of new drives.
