Hi sheralcrow. How is your mono experience going on? I am also using mono20% and I am on my 3rd week. So far no bad reaction on my skin. Is there anyone else out there who is using mono? Share your experience with me.

Here are a few facts that break down how mono depigs the skin, from a matter of the first few months, to 1 year, and beyond 1 year.
First few months:
Initial white patches all over the body, including areas not treated with monobenzone.
One year:
Large portion of body has turned white.
If usage has stopped…
When you stop using monobenzone, melanocytes will become active. Old skin color will start to reappear causing distress and very patchy, uneven skin.
If usage continues beyond one year….
Raw areas of pink skin may emerge, mixed with white patches. Spots of original coloring may emerge within a few years due to follicular melanocytes. Monobenzone becomes ineffective on these spots as the returned pigment has become resistant to the chemical. The overall effect can be devastating mentally, emotionally and psychologically.
What Monobenzone Does To Normal Skin:
Initially, white patches, white spots and streaks all over the body (regardless of where the cream is applied) Unlike skin lightening creams which only lighten the areas it is applied to, monobenzone applied anywhere on the body will lead to white patches at different areas.
For example, if you applied monobenzone on your face, you could develop permanent white patches and streaks on your arms, legs and torso as well.
After one year….white skin, with ruddy or pinkish tones
Because monobenzone creams kill the skin's melanocytes, you can expect completely white and pinkish skin following depigmentation. This usually occurs after approximately one year of monobenzone use. The skin color will be similar to a person with albinism. Physical activity and exercise will lead to ruddy-looking skin and flushing as the blood beneath the skin's surface will show up clearly without any pigment to tint its appearance.
Within one to two years, the skin may start to repigment itself
While this repigmentation may happen to vitiligo sufferers as well, it occurs sooner and more aggressively in people with normal skin. This is because vitiligo sufferer's immune systems are constantly attacking their own pigment cells. There is no such action in people with normal skin. With a fully-functioning immune system, melanocytes will become active again. Spots and patches of pigmentation will start to appear over previously white skin, leading to a patchy appearance.
Unlike the initial stage of using monobenzone, applying monobenzone to bleach these repigmented spots will likely have no effect. This is because the newly re-emerged melanocytes have become resistant to monobenzone, even in even higher concentrations like 40% monobenzone. In other words, at this late stage, monobenzone will stop working on the skin.
If the skin does not repigment, expect a lifetime of zero sun protection
Because melanin offers sun protection, completely depigmented skin which has no melanin offers zero sun protection. Vitiligo sufferers who have successfully depigmented wear hats, long sleeves and long pants outdoors all the time to protect themselves from sun damage. Even on cloudy days, sunscreens with broad coverage are a must.
There exists no way yet to reverse the damage caused by monobezone.

Well, you'll have to decide what you'll like to do and achieve. w/ FM maybe nothing will happen, but as seen everyone's experiences are different. About the mono, this is only a basic draft from the site and what usually happens with mono, and you'll have to be prepared for this process to happen at different times, give or take as everyone's skin is unique and will have it's own stages.

This is my second time having some success with lightening my skin. Right now I have been using hq 4% and retin-a 0.05%, and it's lightening well. I'm hoping to achieve my goal at least for my face and a few other areas by the end of Feb. I don't plan on using hq forever. I may switch to Nadinola extra strength (3% hq) and retin-a.

I have been using 4 in 1 kojic soap for 3 days now. It burns a lot when I use it and I hope that's a good sign. Also I put mono on my face afterwards. I hope they don`t react with each other. I`ll wait another week to see any results from kojic soap.

Sorry, I didn't notice this here before. Before the Hq/Ra I used Makari night crème which has more natural active ingredients an it lightened me up to about 3.5-4 shades. The Hq/Ra lightened me up to about the same, although some days I feel darker than others (used this for a few months). Now I'm on Nadinola (3% Hq) and retin-a 0.05%When I was a kid I say I was around Tyra's, since adulthood my color was around Toni Braxton's. Right now I think I'm more in between.

Hi. Kojic soap is effective but it has made my skin really dry amd mono didn`t work at all. I don't want to get wrinkled . So I am giving up now. I don't think there is any product which can make me 4 shades lighter. I`ll just go natural and use sun screen only. I think my journey to skin lightening is almost over. Thanks guys for your support.

Hi guys, I'm just writing this to let my feelings out. I can't wait to completely depig myself. It appears that here in Melbourne(Australia), you will never get fined in a tram by the tram officer if your white. This is so unfair. I witnesses this for the 7th time already. If white people didn't got a ticket, they will just have to nicely smile and talk to the tram officer and then the officer won't fine them. This is so racist and unfair. I didn't understand why Australia wanted to accept refugee by saying "rejecting refugees means racism!". They can't even get rid of racism yet! And it's still EVERYWHERE.
They hate and bashes Indians, Pakistanis, Iranians and Saudi Arabians. I usually don't want to admit this, but now I do: that the lighter your skin color is, the better treatment you get.

I know.. But how to put this? I'm quarterly mixed. My grandmother was white indian, so she has a very white and fair skin. When it comes to me, I didn't have her white skin. My dad is chinese and his skin is dark. My mom is half (white indian & chinese). So my skin colour is yellow, but my face looked mixed. I'm very sure that if I depig myself, I would look better. Because I was once very white when I was 13 years old. But as I grew older, my dad's genes keep on catching up with me and my skin color grew darker and darker. I'm currently in melbourne, doing performing arts. And people here are very racist. They wouldn't allow asian skin color to take the role of Shakespeares, and MOST of the drama performances here are about shakespeares. So if I keep on getting rejected because of my skin colour, I'm totally ed up, I will never get a job.
I hate to admit this, but racial supremacy is still on.
