At 19 you're considered to be legally an adult, in most places. You can vote, you can drive, in some countries you can drink, in others you can't.

Are you asking what constitutes a legal adult or are you asking if at the age of 19 you're mature enough to be an adult?

Superego identity is the accrued confidence that the outer sameness and continuity prepared in the future are matched by the sameness and continuity of one's meaning for oneself, as evidenced in the promise of a career. At 19, women are considered adults, yes. And the average Playboy centerfold is about that age.

BUT, mentally, no.

A 19 year old may THINK that she is "grown", but double that age and you are getting closer to the right answer. When you get 38, you will look back at this question and say no too.

19 is considered a LEGAL adult, but that doesn't mean that you are an "adult." Let's face it, if you're 19 (like me,) you're still a teenager. There are a lot of mature, level-headed young adults and teenagers out there, and a lot of teens are also immature. Being an adult doesn't mean that you are ABLE to be on your own, make your own living, get married, or even be in a serious relationship. That is where maturity, and responsibility comes into play. However, I also have to say, that I know some 38 year olds who are less mature than some 19 year olds I know. It all doesn't always come down to age.

Just a guess, you're wondering whether you're old enough to be treated as a woman. Its pretty simple, look at a person that you definitely address as a woman, and compare yourself to it. It's the level of maturity that matters, not the age (mostly). When you're a mature woman, you wouldn't, at all question about it :D
