Hi I have a lenovo c200 3000 laptop running XP.
My problem. For some several months the display has been offset. I am confident this is not a Windows problem because the offset appears in the bios where the display cannot fit onto the monitor. I work around this in windows by sizing the windows of individual programmes (they are of course "rememberered"). But this is not satisfactory. I am hoping there is a registry setting that will at least all Windows to allow all of the desktop to be visible in native resolution. Or maybe there is a screen utility similar to the OSD ones on external monitors that allow the adjustment of the horizontal position. Help... Pleeeeease.

Try a BIOS update. If there is a bug, that will usually fix it. I've never seen a BIOS controlled screen adjustment, but it doesn't mean they're not out there.

Some laptops have buttons above the key board that control the screen and other hardware items. That may help also.

You may also have a problem with the resolution. Right click your Desktop and click Properties. Fiddle with the different resolutions and see if a smaller one helps.

Good Luck.

Thanks very much info junkie. Have tried all that. Flashed the bios and fiddled the resolutions. I am not too worried about the bootup screen being all wrong. But maybe there is something like an OSD utility programme or a registry setting that would make windows look right even though there is something wrong with the video chip (possibly)
Thanks again.
