I was arrested a couple of months ago, but I was given a city ordinance charge. The police only charged me for a disorderly conduct charge. I was not finger printed or breatherlyzed at all. I basically paid for my bond and I was let go and is not required to go to court. I am scared whether employers can find anything on me. The police officers kept saying that I have no criminal record but I don't know if an arrest record would prevent me from getting a job in the future. I am currently a college student also. Please somebody help me.

I would say not that it wouldn't affect your chances of getting a job. Usually when employers do background checks on you it will be for really bad things like felon and stuff. Also, if the police said that you have no criminal record then it should be fine.

Hello soy:
Arrests don't usually show up on a background check. They could, though, if you apply for a government security job, for example.

No city ordinance do not normally show up, as noted if they do a very complete government background search it is possible.

Thank you all for your help, this information really brought allow myself to be at ease finally. Thank you all so much.
Out of curiousity, what would a small arrest record like this not allow me to do, in general?

Arrest records DO show up as they are a matter of public record. From what I understand, and I could be wrong so please, someone correct me if I am, but if you have not had a CONVICTION then you have no criminal record. Being arrested, charged and convicted are all separate things.
