Someone I know wants to know the name of this movie. He said it isn't the dark half,Ink Heart,Delirious or Stranger Than Fiction or in the mouth of madness

Sounds a little like an episode of 'are you afraid of the dark'

"The Tale of the Dream Machine" - season 2, episode 5

List of Are You Afraid of the Dark? episodes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Are_You_Afraid_of_the_Dark%3F_episodes)

Its ringing a bell and I am leaning toward Stephen King for some reason.
He always has writers in his book.
I just can't grab it.

There was a movie I remember when I was little - a guy ( a married man, portrayed as a dork/loser/family hates him kind of guy), has some kind of computer / word processor thing (totally 80's), anyway, he figures out that anything he writes comes true - something happens, the machine breaks or something - anyway, your question reminded me of this movie - ask your friend if he remembers a part when the dad had his hand stuck in the garbage disposal, and the son was totally going to turn it on - I don't remember the title, I'll research some more for you...

It has to do with the background of his life - what type of family he has. When he has the computer / word processor thing, he changes everything - changes the wife, changes the kid, changes the house, basically creates a new life - good luck with your movie search, it might help if your friend could give slightly more info?

I realize Tammilyn has been banned for a while BUT this is definitely a Stephen King short story. Maybe someone else picked up the idea and wrote a movie or TV show... but this is a Stephen King short story.

JudyKayTee - you're totally right - I just read it last night in Stephen Kings Skeleton Crew. It's called 'Word Processor of the Gods" - Tales From The Crypt made it into one of their segments in 1984 - I was trying to find it for Tamilynn before...
