My dog Sheila; not quite full grown still a puppy became missing and ended up being picked up from the street. I had a tag with name & phone number. Anyway 8 days went by and I received a call that someone had her. I went and picked her up they had found her 3 or 4 days (severe cold from had come in here in Texas) and they said they put her in a pin with their dogs. Anyway she's bleeding from her female area now and it's all puffed up. I'm taking her to a vet to have her spayed and they said they should take care of an unwanted pregnancie and puppies. It's scheduled for 6 days from now. She's still bleeding is this normal and wondering if she's injured or infected. She has a large pimple on her private area also that is new. The vet was to busy to see her until the appointment. I'm wandering if I should take her to an emergency veterinarian hospital. Does this seem like normal. I'm just worried about infection. Is it normal for her to continue bleeding (dripping blood)?

I am thinking that she went into heat, but I would ask your vet. If you are that worried about her, take her to the hospital.

How old is she?

It could be that she is in heat or it could be that a male has tried to mate with her and torn something, I would see if you can make the appointment sooner in case there is any damage done.

And thank you for being responsible and getting her spayed :)

I'd say she's about 9 or 10 months old. She also has a lot of trimmering and shaking of her legs, paws, etc when she sleeps. It seems to be getting more prominent. She had round worms about 3 months ago which I got her medicine for and got rid of them.

She's normally very spirited; amazonia in fact. She's seems to be all quiet and tired since I got her back yesterday.

I have warehouses here; and I had one of the rollup doors up about 8 inches for air to get in and I came back one day and she was sitting there on one of the couches; that was in July. She's tripled in size since then. Someone said at the time they thought she was about 4 months old. She wouldn't leave the building for 2 or 3 weeks. Love at first site.

At that age it's very possible that she went into heat. That could be why she left. The vet will be able to tell you for sure.
