I'm a solo guitarist. Have been for many years; done church concerts and am a worship leader at a small church in Minnesota. I've written many solo instrumental pieces and recorded a solo cd. People like my music and buy the cd's but not enough to make more than 50 bucks or so at a concert. I'd like to help my church but also myself by doing fundraisers. Is there a way I can fundraise for humanitarian purposes but also make an income for myself? This is probably a common and basic question, but it takes time, effort and gas to continue. How do I do this and still support myself financially?

Hi, kiauga!
I too, am a person who makes a part of my living by being a professional musician. It's a tough row to hoe...
I've also been working in the music ministry in churches for over 37 years.
A couple of questions that I have for you are:
1. Are you located in a large or fairly large metropolitan area.
2. Was your CD professional recorded or did you record it yourself, please?
Thanks!

Unless your famous its hard to make a living in music. But if you put together events then that is where the money is. Have you thought about being a promoter ?
