Here's my question, I make 32000.00 approx claim married with 3. Federal Taxes were taken out at approx 28-30 dollars per pay period. Presidents plan effected my check pay period ending 4/11/09 after that no fed taxes have been taken. Why is that

Have you went to your HR and asked them what changes were made ?

Because the withholding tables show you not owing fed taxes.

Thanks for the quick reply, but won't this cause me to owe at the end of the year?

There have not been any changes. I am still set up to have fed with holdings taken. My concern is owing when I file. Which is what is going to happen

That depends on the amount of deductions you have when you file.

Let's do some quick math:

Total income: $32,000
Subtract for THREE personal exemptions (yourself, your spouse, your child): $3,600 X 3 = $10,800.
Subtract for JOINT standard deduction: $11,100

Total taxable income: $10,100.

Approximate tax: $1,013

Subtract: $1,000 Child Tax Credit.

Total tax due: $13.

Based on your posting, prior to April 2009, you have OVER $13 withheld from your check, so you will get a refund, albeit a smaller one than if more money had been withheld.

This is what you want!

Because ANY refund is an interest-free loan to the government!
