My GE oven has a gas leak at the connector between the gas valve and the gas value regulator. The appliance rep tech says the two parts are actually one unit and he can not losing the nut at the connector point. He says they are soddered. So he has to replace the entire part instead of repairing the connector point for an extra $200. The gas company tech told me the repair shouldn't involve any parts only labor. Does it sound right that the gas valve and gas valve regulator should be a single unit even though it planly has a connector point between the two pieces?

Usually they are two pieces. How about a real model #, so I can see what I can find online.

Two such places to look online is: Appliance Parts Pros.com Discount Appliance Parts ? Appliance Repair Parts (http://www.appliancepartspros.com/) and
