This probably doesn't fit the subject of home electronics, but it is the closest I can find, so will ask anyway.

I have a Panasonic Newvicon color video camera (WV 3150) mfg. March, 1983. I have found some places that mention it, but can't find any idea whether it has any value or not.

If nothing else, it has a zoom lens mfg in Japan, 12.5 - 75mm 1:1.4.

Can you tell me anything about this?

You probably could give it away and pay them to take it. Anything that is not digital is not worth much to anyone who is not a collector of old stuff.

My old Cannon AE1 SLR camera is fine and dandy but unfortunately now that the regular film that comes in cans is not sold or processed anymore it sure makes a dandy paperweight or bookend for me. It's always in paperweight mode. Probably have to twist someone's arm to haul it away even though it cost me $500 back in 1973 and takes better photos than most digital cameras of today BUT no film or film processing = paperweight mode forever.

I understand that in Russia there is still a call for Polariod cameras and Polariod film. Yes, you can still buy that sutff over there. Maybe I can interest someone over in Russia about your video camera and my Cannon camera. Who knows, dumber things have happened.

Seems a shame to just toss a perfectly good telephoto lens.

You could place camera somewhere for monitoring,(Garage, Baby's room. Etc) and Luckly it is analog, so it can easily plug into an unused Composite input.

Obviously this is uncharted domain for me.

The camera has no film or tape, so it has to be only a digital camera that feeds to something via multi-pin cord. I assume it gets its power the same way, as there seem to be no batteries in it.

I have no way of knowing whether it works or not.
