My house is only 5 years old. I purchased it at new construction. However, I am continuously having what I "think" is a problem. I have two HVAC units made my White-Rodgers. One is downstairs, and the other is upstairs in the attic. This is what I have been told. Really Ive only seen one in the attic. I have only ONE control, however. The control is located on the wall that separates the den from the garage.

My problem is that the unit comes on and off in one-two minute intervals! It comes on stops, and then immediately start back up. Upstairs the heat is smoldering, but I if I turned it down, the den would be too cool. Is this normal, or does it need servicing. Does the control being on the wall so close to the garage have something to do with it? Please, HELP!

White Rodgers makes the thermostat not the furnace. It sounds like your control for the units OR the units themselves could be having a problem and require service.

Controls/thermostats should not be placed on a cold wall.
