I'm replacing an old s86a with a new s8610u Intermittant pilot gas ignition control. I'm okay with the MV MV/PV PV GND(brnr) and 24V grnd wires. Where my problem starts is with the 25V (2) wire from the s86a and the TH-W and TH-R wires. I do not have a vent damper and there was no vent damper connection on the old unit. The instruction are not clear enough for me to comfortably make the connections.

This link is to the instructions, Table 5 shows the conversion.

One thing to add. The TH-W and TH-R wires were not connected or jumpered with any other wires.

On the new module leave the vent damper plug alone since you did not have a vent damper.

For the rest just follow the directions under your OLD parts part number. Pay attention to a,d,c, as it says to do in the directions. It is all there.
