I live in the north country of NYS and every winter my vents on my roof freeze and I have to get someone to get on my roof and pour hot water down them which help until we get freezen cold again. So last year I put a water elec wire tape around one of them to see if that would work, when I got the smell I put it on but only for a short time, didn't know if it would cause a fire. It did work a little. This year I extended the vent about the point of the house and put on a angle rotating vent (like they use on a RV) figuring that the vapor would come out instead of freezing and falling back into the vent blocking hole.
