DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute
Work this out as you read .
Don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
1. First, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator:D
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759..
If you haven't, add 1758.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e. how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!! )
Am I right? Am I right?

what if you only have a one digit age?
edit: it still works. It just puts a 0 before the one digit age ^_^

Darnit, it did work.
Also, I did have to use a calculator once you got to multiply 50. :(
I feel old.

Then you're too young to be on this site. ;)

So, my 4-year-old nephew, whose birthday info I used to check it, shouldn't be asking for advice?

If he can sign up to this site, figure out how to use it and write in complete sentences, heck, sure, bring him on! ;)

LOL! I grabbed my calculator too!
I'm glad it worked for you.
Don't feel old, younger people don't do math in their heads anymore.
Everybody uses a calc in school now.
Hmmm maybe that's not a good thing:confused:

I was never good at math.
My son is eleven. A few weeks back he had math homework. It was long division. I had to look it up on the internet because I forgot how to do it! :o

At least it wasn't that 'new math' schools are teaching kids nowadays. That stuff makes absolutely no sense to me. It doesn't even look like math, and it doesn't always get the right answer. Apparently, as long as it works some of the time, it's an effective tool to teach kids. I think I will refuse to hire any accountant who learned 'new math' as a child.

New math?
What's wrong with the old math?
I can barely do old, I refuse to learn new!
This sucks!

Ohhhh! I thought you meant :eek:23 was wrong because you were older and the answer was far from your real age. Lol
Glad it worked or you.

Yes, it worked. As a side note, it works for any number, not only those between 1 and 10 :)

Yeah cool. I didn't know what to expect but when I looked at the numbers I was surprised. Lol
I've read it only works in 2009 but some have seen this before, I'm no math expert but you have to change the numbers in step 5 in order for it to work next year 2010. I don't know how though:confused:

You only need to add 1 to the number (1759 becomes 1760, and 1758 becomes 1759). That way, you have a greater number to subtract from, and get a larger value (your age increased ), that of your age. :)
