We want to add a small kitchenette to our finished basement. Is it possible to add a sink without digging up the floor for the drain? We'd like to do this as inexpensively as possible since we are trying to sell the house.

Hi Rcollins...

Sure is possible.. ;) You should just need to install a LAUNDRY DRAIN PUMP and then pipe the waste line from the sink into the pump basin and then install the drain from the pump to a drain pipe from above the floor.

However, it isn't quite as simple as I just made it sound. The sink and the pump still need to be vented as well.

The pump will aertainly save you some hassle, but to do the kitchenette sink and stay within plumbing codes is still a bit of work!

Let us know if you'd like to discuss more.
