My upper inner left gum is swollen and my uvola is enlarged. I tried to eat but its painful to swallow. Any suggestions as to what might have caused this? I brush my teeth every day and every night.

Oh my! The same has happened to me yesterday. The left side of my gums were sensitive and swollen. And last night I noticed a rising sore at the roof of my mouth toward the back. It doesn't hurt bad but it feels weird when I swallow. I don't know what it is. It might be turning into a mouth ulcer . Maybe , try gargling thrice a day with warm salt water . I tried cayenne pepper . I don't think it is caused from an unclean mouth because just like yourself, I brush my teeth at least twice a day! Good luck!

OK! I took an 800mg motrin and it seemed to calm the pain down. However now I'm starting to get a fever and my body is aching all over! What the heck is going on?

Sounds like a virus to me.
