View Full Version : Central Heating Radiator layout.

Hi, I'm going to be adding a new radiator to my CH System, but I can't find any one else with my sort of layout. And I can't fingure out how it works?


Now I'm going to attach a drawing so you can see what I mean. There is just one pipe running in series around the house. I don't get what makes the water flow into the radiators instead of just carrying along the pipe line.

The system is pumped and heated by a back boiler (all part of the series)

It sounds like what you have is a one pipe steam heat system , are you sure there is a pump on this system

If so, according to this web page, it is simply the hot water rising that makes it go into each radiator along the line.

Check the fittings at the feed side of each radiator they may be a special fitting that has a restrictor that forces the water to want to flow through the radiator there called monoflow tees ,
