I have one hundred pounds of treasury 2 1/2% consolidated stock that has been passed on to me from a family member who died fifty years ago. Could someone explain to me what type of investment this might be. P.S.

So this is UK treasury stock right ? And what corporation are they issued to?

Stock that is authorized and issued by a company and is later bought back. Dividends are not paid on Treasury stock, and no voting rights are associated with them. A corporation can hold Treasury stock indefinitely, reissue the shares, or cancel them
