I have thawed my pipes with more insulation and a heat wrap. The water flowes into my machined now but when it fills and tries to continue onto the agitation cycle, nothing happens but a humming sound. I think the motor might be seized cause that's what it sounds like. Any thoughts? It never did this before the pipes froze.

Hi Pistolpieter:

How is the washing machine drain hose connected to the waste line? Is it directly connected? If so, then the washing machine drain pipe and PTRAP is probably frozen and will also need to be thawed before you can proceed with using the washing machine... ;)

Take the washing machine drain hose out of the washing machine drain line and then run the washing machine... if water flows from the hose when the machine drains then you can be sure the drain pipe/PTRAP is frozen.

Open the wall, if necessary, run the hair dryer for awhile and see if that helps thaw things out. You may even need to open up a large enough hole in the wall to let the room air help thaw the drain pipe and the PTRAP. A space heater will also help here... ;)

Anyway, start with this info. Let us know how you make out.
