I have MS Encarta 95 software. PC computer, Windows XP Pro. All was good and installed, until last year computer had to be partitioned. Also had to get another CDROM player. Player that works is F:, Player that doesn't work is G: .
Now want to re-install Encarta on same side of partition (C:\). Have lots of RAM.
When I put disc into G: message says "Put CD into G: or Cannot find."
When I put disc into F: message says "Cannot find".
What to do?
Many thanks,
R Aquareii

The old MS Encarta tends to use the CD Drive type and Letter to consider where it is getting its information from. I suggest you uninstall the current installation of MS Encarta and then reinstall using your working drive.

Thank you InfoJ. Did that but didn't go. Decided to toss Encarta 95 out. Oh well. Thx anyway. Aquareii

Just an after thought. After the uninstallation, I would have run revouninstaller or something like that. It would get rid of any left behind reg entries or config files that may have been still pointing to the old drive. Then I would have rebooted and reinstalled.
