When using remote, the door comes down hits ground, waits one to two seconds and goes up. I can use remote again and stop the movement.

Very first thing is to see if the door is binding in the track and if the spring is working. Pull the disconnect cord (with the door up) and see if you can easily raise and lower the door by hand. If it is exceptionally heavy, then your spring might be broken--requiring a professional to fix.

Also check that the door moves smoothly up and down the track. If there are any spots where it binds, check for loose screws and also lubricate the rollers. Reconnect the door to the chain at the disconnect cord and see if it works any better.

If the door still reverses, then it sounds like the down-limit needs to be adjusted. For safety, the door will reverse if the pressure against it exceeds a certain level. So if there is an obstruction (like a child), it reverses to prevent squashing the obstruction. If this limit is set too low, the door can reverse when there is no obstruction, so increasing the level at which this reversal occurs can fix this problem.

If you have the manual, there should be something about this adjustment. Or see if you can find small screw adjustments on the opener unit itself labeled "up-limit" and "down-limit" or something similar. You'd want to increase the down pressure. Just change it a little at a time (like a 1/2 turn) and stop when the door works properly. If you increase it too much, then if a child or pet is under the door, they could be injured.

Good luck,
