We are remoldeling a 1/2 bath, and have removed the old 32' x 32" shower. The drain is 16" centered from each corner. We want to expand the shower to about 34" x 48", making it a ceramic interier. My question is how do I make a new shower basin? The drain, I believe, is cast iron, in a concrete floor, and now stands about 2" from the floor (we removed the old basin).
Thanks.

Good morning Bob, If you can't locate a plastic shower pan that's 34" X 48" you will have to form your own out of Compatite, (we used to make them out of sheet lead). You will have to cut the material 46"X 60" to get a 6" lip and make a continuous water tight fold at each cornor. It takes some practice to make your own shower pan but it can be done. Once done, you can mud in the floor and slope to the drain. Next comes your tile and you have your shower stall. Good luck, Tom
