My son's car needed a boost and someone stopped to help. When he attached the booster cables, he connected them in the reverse and now the car won't start at all.
Help please:(

You've roasted some pretty expensive electronics. You're going to have to take it to a garage and pay some big bucks to have it fixed.

Thanks Perito.
They have changed the solinoid and are in the process of changing the ignition control module.
Any suggestions to what else may need to be replaced?
The boys have their own shop and they like to repair cars.

Check all the fuses, buth under the hood and under the dash. You may have an open fusible link that would need replaced before power will go to the car.

Situations, like this, often damage the alternator, ECM, and sensors. Even if you hook up the jumper cables properly, there's always the risk of a voltage spike damaging the same components mentioned above. That's why I don't recommend jumping modern-day vehicles; instead, remove and fully charge or replace the battery.
