I live in an apartment, so can't wire in a timer, so have been trying to find a timer that I can plug in to the 220V line, then plug my window A/C into that. I can't find one either locally at hardware stores, or on line. Suggestions?

Shop around for price and there are many other brands to choose from also.

Amazon had this timer for just over $22 including S/H, so I ordered it from them. They even beat the Intermatic website!

Good deal just be sure the contacts in the timer will handle the current flow in amps or Watts. Usually they will and a timer makes it a more useful machine.

How about a 50 - 60 amp 240v heater for a swimming pool. The plug loos like a crows foot O
