I have a toilet which refuses to syphon. I removed the entire toilet
And have been working on it in the driveway. I'm thinking about
Decorating it with Christmas ornaments!

I cleaned out all of the holes around the rim, and water flows through them fine. I also
Checked the small hole at the base of the bowl. When I put a high
Pressure hose into it, water flows out of the holes in the rim.

I turned the toilet upside down, and I can snake a garden hose all the
Way from the bottom of the toilet, where it attaches to the floor, up through the bowl, so I don't believe there is any blockage. The only way I can get the toilet to
Syphon is by leaning it back at a fairly steep angle to start the syphoning action. I am ready to replace the toilet! Any ideas?

I have a lovely wreath that may be just the thing!

We need info on what happens when you tried to flush the toilet, etc.
Slow flush, no flush, any gurgle sounds, etc. Any water pressure issues? Please tell us more, inquiring minds want to know!

Did you run your finger in the jet ]hole to make sure it didn't have mineral build up? It could still have minerals built up and pass water. Let me know what you find. May I suggest tinsel hung from the tank and a big red bow on the bowl. Regards, Tom

"The only way I can get the toilet to

Wait, are you trying to get it to siphon while not hooked up and by only putting water into it while it is sitting there on the driveway?

Or, did you hook it back up afterward cleaning it and still not working right?

You won't get it to gush out without a good amount of pressure, so just putting the hose and filling it up on the driveway won't work... unless you tip it to get the trap to give way.

Clean what Tom said, then rehook it to test it. Post back your test if it doesn't work.
