I have the standard windows administrative account plus my account which as "owner" also has admin privileges. Is this safe? I never use the windows admin account is it safe to delete it? If so how do I do this. I am a newbie with not much knowledge thus far.

I want to know more about your deleting the windows admin account.
If you just delete it in your control panel, of course, it's safe. However you couldn't delete it's system files.

As for avoiding hackers gaining access, in my opinion,if you had a anti-virus software and used it to check your computers often, the hackers couldn't gain access to your computer.
