Hi,

This is ram I am F1 Student of California.
I got a job offer in Las Vegas and I have my CPT Now I moved to Las vegas for my job.
I wan to find out how much would be the Taxes on my CPT Income (Federal Tax and State Tax Percentages) and also in my W-4 form I have kept a total of 3 for the Total Deductions.(For Row H)
My Monthly salary would be $ 4500.
Can you please tell me how much taxes will I need to pay monthly for my Income.
I know I can find these in my pay check but I want to cross check with the Tax Experts like in this forum whether I am paying more taxes or correct taxes.
You reply will help me a lot.
Thank you.

On F-1/CPT you are exempt from residency for 5-years. You must file non-resident tax return Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ. Your income is not subject to SS tax and Medicare tax. You will pay federal income tax.
On W-4, you should claim one allowance. Your U.S. Tax Return: U.S. Tax Filing Requirements for Non-Residents (http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/03/us-tax-filing-requirements-for-non.html)

Ram:

If you are single, then, under IRS withholding rules for foreign nationals, your withholding allowance on Form W-4 should be no more than ONE.
