Also how does my control board know the difference between Heat Pump or Gas heat?

It is no longer a heat pump system as I changed my ac and its just electric.

Your control board does not know but a professional that hooked it all up will.

No one hooked up my control board? It came with the unit.

Look someone had to wire the thermostat and control wires to the unit to start with and the way it is wired makes the difference.

Well that was maybe 16 years ago...

I think it's the board. Thanks.

I had the original boards and at least one of them took the unit to light the ignitor/bright orange but no gas on either unit.

I suspect the board. It would be rare both Gas Valves would be out at the same time.

Fun fun... 2 units down.

And an obsolete board I'll have to go find.

Thanks again for checking in.

Is there anywheere that repairs these boards?

I now have three boards that don't fully work. One runs the ac and not the heater, the other two don't work for anything but do power up and spin the blower. (two had some recall/faulty solder resistor 15-16 yrs ago.)

We did some board repairs here at the university but that was for a manufacturers test purposes as they were trying to find out which components fail. I know of no company that repairs HVAC boards since the liability insurance policy would off set and profit attainable.
