I am trying to find the name of a live-action Christmas movie from the 80s (possibly late 70s).

The main character in the movie is a boy and in the beginning he's being bullied by schoolmates. Further in the movie I remember there being a woman in it dressed in red walking in a snow covered forest while singing and a giant man who lives in the woods kidnaps her and holds her hostage.

Anyone have a clue?

I finally found it. It was a French film called 'J'ai rencontré le Père Noël' from 1984. It was dubbed in English and given the name 'Here Comes Santa Claus,' the DVD's name however is 'I Believe in Santa Claus.'

I've been looking for a christmas movie for years, but have had no luck.

Unfortunately I remember very little, but it's one of those things that eats at you.

There are scenes in Santa's village, where there is some sort of explosion. Santa wears green. And there is Russian style dancing.

Anything? Anyone?

mcginty, its "Santa Clause: The Movie"

A Russian toy carver becomes Santa Clause. They suited him up with green just before going with red instead.

An elf leaves the workshop, and start putting the magic reindeer stuff in candy causing kids to float, which we discover, when heated, it explodes.
