I'm searching for a horror film that came out about 1987 or 88. It hit the theaters but did not get any or very little pub. The film was similar to Amityville; it was about a family that bought this house with a pond out-back, but the house was cursed by a demon or a witch that was judged back in the primeval days. This evil entity begins to terrorize the family, which causes the father to find answers and in his investigation he finds a book or something (I think) in the attic which reveals to him the history of this home and what happened to the witch. The film then shifts back to the primeval days and shows what happened then to the witch and the curse that was placed on the ground the house was built upon. I don't remember many scenes from the movie except this one scene where the witch came back to kill the people who judged her and puts one of the Fryars who judged her in this human torture press. This press was an instrument used to place a persons body in and it had a wheel on top that was turned to press down on the person being tortured (don't mean to insult anyone's intelligence). Another scene I remember was near the end of the movie; the entity regained a body and killed one of the family members in the attic, by pounding wooden-like spikes through them and the tips of the spikes protruded through the attic down through the ceiling with drops of blood while the other family members looked-on. That's all I can remember. Somebody has to have seen this horror film even though it was not highly publicized. One other thing, I think the title of the film is a one word title but I'm not sure. Thank you.
