Received a letter from attorneys claiming that I owe health and requet club R6000 in arrears for the equipment I used. I did not use any of their equipment because a month or so after signing their contract they were liquidated. They have falsely presented themselves to me. And now they want me to pay? what can I do?

If you received just a letter on a debt that is 10 years old I wouldn't worry too much about this. At this point in time the statute of limitations has tolled and they cannot file a lawsuit against you for this debt.
You don't have to pay them if you don't want to at this point. They could, however, have this debt added to your credit report.

You deny owing them anything, don't give them any info about the event at all.
Now a collection firm may contact you and bill you forever, since it appears you may owe part of the debt. But after the SOL they may no longer sue you in court.
Remember contracts of health clubs ( one of the worst industry to sign contracts in) the full amount of the entire debt is owed day one, so if they went out of business the debt was most likely sold to someone else or went to who ever took over any ownership of company. Or if they went bankrupt, the debt would have went to the court to be sold to pay towards any debt.
If the contract had a "out " if they closed then it will be a way to show debt not owed.
