Yes hi.. I started having this pain in my tooth about a day ago.. and have been taking advil but this morning I wokeup with my gum all swollen.. I was told by a friend of mine that works in a dentists office I'll need to be seen asap.. . but its Saturday and none is open around me.. I work for a dr myself and I asked for a percription of antibiotics.. did I do good or bad? With me taking the antibiotics will I be fixing or damaging the situation.. being that only Monday I can get a hold of a dentist...

Well, taking antibiotics can't hurt. But you will need to get in on Monday.

You can call your local pharmacy and see if they have clove oil. If so, dab some on a q-tip and rub it on the gum line around the affected tooth. Will help keep it numb.
