I have notice a bump in the laminate flooring what is it and can you do to remove it?

I have suddenly notice a bump in the laminate flooring then other smaller one. What is it and can you get rid of it?

If the bump is at a join in two pieces, it probably means you used too much water cleaning the floor. The water gets in between the laminate pieces and raised it up. If that's not it, I don't know what it is and I don't think there is any way of removing the bump because you can't just sand it. It would remove the texture.

Edit : I have laminate flooring in my dining room and I will never use it again. My cleaners always use too much water when mopping it, so there are a lot of bumps.

I've been reading a lot about laminate flooring, as I'm in the process of installing my own now. It could be the way it was installed- sufficient expansion room may not have been left around the perimeter of the room. As the floor expands and contracts, there is a build up of pressure, causing the joints to buckle. It could also be the result of an uneven subfloor. I am shimming with asphalt shingles as I install my own, and notice in some places, where I have placed even just one shingle too many, there is a bit of a bump along the seam.

You would probably have to remove the flooring (easy if it is interlocking and not glued together along the seams), remove the problematic pieces of flooring, and try to relay it with proper expansion gap (1/4") along the walls.
