Hi there, I have a Trane TUE060A936 Gas Furnace originally using a White Rodgers 50A55-571 Board. The WR board is now replaced with another board. It is the universal CNT03797.

The board has an led for trouble shooting, and the led is constantly off, which that code says to check the power.

I have checked the power on everywhere. I have checked the power coming in from the breaker to the switch which controls the furnace. I have checked from the switch to the safety switch on the furnace. I have checked from the safety switch to the board. I have also checked the wire from the switch to the board to ensure it is good. All power is good and 100%, but the light is still off. (The fuse on the board is good)

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I am just learning and now I am thinking it is the 24vac transformer. Could that be? If so, where do I find it on this model? Any ideas of what it could be? It is freezing in here... Thanks a million!!

If the power is going to the board and you have no led then I would think the circuit board is defective. You might also check the 24 volt side and make sure that is working also.

I have reason to believe that the board is good. The reason being is that the old board was sitting right there with this one. One condition on buying the house was that it work, so I think they bought the board and it turned out that wasn't the problem. Stupid me, accepted a piece of paper stating everything was fine without testing it. Actually I did and everyone said they felt it blowing but me, so I doubted myself. I am going to follow that diagram and check the 24 volt side. (I'll have to research that though. In a nutshell, I imagine I just find that side, and use my multimeter.)

I just want to test this part first before trying the new board. I think the transformer is less so I wanted to go that route first. Especially since I am sitting on two boards here. Is there a way to just test the board? Haha I don't expect anyone to type that up.

I tested the transformer and it is bad. I am not getting anything on the 24v side.

Just about any 40VA 115 volt transformer will work. Look on Ebay

I saw an old post you answered about a year ago where the guy used the one from Radio Shack.

I thought I'd give it a shot and there is a Radio Shack up the road, so I went and wooohooo!! I have heat!! We just bought this house 2 months ago, and are new to the area so I decided to take this project on myself.

Anyway, I am glad you confirmed my suspicion that overall these things were universal. I don't think I have much to offer here in return, but a sincere thank you!! This stuff is interesting too, so I am going to continue reading around here.
