Hi! This is to do with electricity and amps for gigs etc.

1. You have hired a small-gig lighting rig. It comes with 8 par 56's. Can you plug all the lanterns into one 10 amp GPO?

(I would be fine with this question if I knew what 8 par 56's were!)

2. How many par 56's can a 10 amp dimmer control?
?

Please help! Any input would be greatly appreciated!

This is a link to a spec sheet on a par 56

This is either a 300 or 600 watt lamp. If you are running on 120 VAC a 10 amp circuit will run 4 300 watt PAR 56 or 2 600 watt PAR 56 lamps. Double this for 240 VAC or 8 300 watt or 4 600 watt PAR 56 lamps.

Well it depends on the watts of the lamp. The higher the watts/voltage of the lamp, the less you can have on one circuit. 10amps is 2400watts. So if you have the standard 300w lamps in your par56s, you could have 8 on one GPO.
