I've been having a really tough time in this course and the current unit we are covering is completely going over my head.

Chapter 7: Trigonometric Identities and Equations

I'm not understanding how to do it at all for the most part.

One of the questions says:

Use the appropriate compound angle formula to determine the exact value of each expression.

sin(π + π )
---)
6 )

sin(π + π/6 ), π = pi

Well, to start, you need to know your identities.

sin(A+B) = sinAcosB + cosAsinB

Then, you'll need to know your trig basics.

sin(\pi) = 0, cos(0) = 1

and

sin(\frac{\pi}{6}) = \frac12, cos(\frac{\pi}{6}) = \frac{\sqrt3}{2}

Try it out, and tell what you come up with :)

Thanks, it worked out nicely :)
