Yes.

. Remove and fully charge the battery. Most auto parts stores will test and charge batteries for free. Likewise, they will test alternators for free, which you should have done.

. Test all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Test for fuel. Can you hear the fuel pump in the gas tank run, when the ignition switch is turned to ON?

. Test for spark by grounding a plug. If none, consider replacing the coil--they can break down under load (heat).

If the battery is deteriorated to the point that it won't hold a charge- yes. It could also be an alternator that is not providing a charge or other electrical problems.

Agreed. So tell us, when it "quit running", what happened when you turned the key to restart? Nothing? No dash lights at all? Any 'little' details will help us to help you more.
