I live in Michigan and would like to know if you are a salaried employee but you are required to punch a time clock in and out. When I was hired I was told my hours were 7:30 to 4:30 with an hour lunch. The work load is more like a 50 to 55 hours a week. I normally put in 52 hours a week without taking a lunch. What are the laws on this? I do not know if I am Salaried Exempt or Salaried Non-Exempt. I have never been told.

Have you asked your employer?
This is quite comprehensive. Does it answer your question? http://www.paychex.com/pdf/exempt.pdf

A salaried employee can be required to punch a clock to insure they are following the companies minimum hours but you are not entitled to overtime for more than 40 hours. Do you have a contract or is there a general contract for all employees, what do you do for them?

I do all the accounting. There are only 3 Salaried and the rest our hourly. I am the only Salary employee that has to punch in or out. I do not have a contract. My boss is very abusive. She tells the employees how stupid they are. With the economy the way it is in MI. There are not that many jobs available.
Thanks for reply
