Hi,everyone!

I have known 3 fair-sounding compositions of violin, which named 《Canon and Gigue in D major for 3 violins and Basso Continuo》,《schindler's list》and《Valse Triste》.

However, I want to get more beautiful compositions about violin, cause I love it so much.

If you have got some beautiful sounds, just tell me please.:)
Thanks!

Hi again, shihouzhuge

The Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto would be considered to be the "big one" by many violinists. It's very beautiful!

Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&ei=tgQSS-L9K5KYtgf1mqDrCg&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&ved=0CAcQBSgA&q=Tchaikovsky+Violin+Concerto&spell=1)

Or, are you looking for shorter pieces?

Thanks!

Thank you for your advice!

There's actually quite a few pieces with one or more violins in them that I would like to show to you, but I'm not able to play any site right now that has videos on them because this computer is so old. So, I can give you names of pieces and you can go to the links where you might be able to here them.

Here's a couple other favorites of mine with violins in them.

Schubert Death and the Maiden - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Schubert+Death+and+the+Maiden&aq=f&oq=&aqi=)

Schubert Trout Quintet - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Schubert+Trout+Quintet&aq=f&oq=&aqi=)

It sounds pretty good! And I'm curious about your age and where you're from, thanks!

I'm glad that you like "Death and the Maiden"! It's a wonderful piece and knowing that you like it helps me to understand more of what you do like, as far as music is concerned. For some people, it can be a really hard piece to understand why it's likeable at all!

I'll have to do some research as to the meaning of why it was written...

I'm 53 and live in Rock Island, IL. If you read the information on my profile, you'll know a lot more about who I am.

What about you, please?

Thanks!

Thanks,Clough. I've read your profile, and I admire your experience, moreover, I think one couldn't have such wonderful experience in China. I learn so many things from you...

I'm a college student from Beijing in my senior year, and I'm 20 years old by the way my family name is Li. I'll have a Graduate Candidate Test in 40 days soon. It's an important exam in my life...

I like violin very much, and I really want to learn it after my graduation. By the way, have you learned violin yet?

I couldn't get more information about Rock Island,IL. Could you tell me something about that, please? Thanks!

Hi again, shihouzhuge!

I can tell you more later about Rock Island, IL.

In the meantime, please click on the following link.

After my graduation, could you help me in my learning violin, please?
And I don't know violin at all, is it hard to learn?
Thanks!

The violin is one of the hardest instruments to learn, if you really want to play it in the classical way. Learning the 'cello is much easier.

If you would like to only play folk type melodies on the violin where you only have to play in one or two positions, it's not all that hard. Pieces involving that kind of playing can also be quite beautiful!

Yes, I can show you how to play the violin via some rudimentary and elementary instruction on this site.

I've been listening to and thinking about other pieces concerning the violin that you might enjoy hearing. I'll be listing them them, soon!

Thanks!

Thanks,Clough.

I don't want to be a master of violin, because I think it's too late for me, and I just want to learn it for my leisure time.

Could you tell me what's the difference between 'cello and violin, please?

Thanks!

Clough
Dec 1, 2009, 02:10 PM
Hi again, shihouzhuge!

The 'cello, sometimes just called cello and more formally called the violoncello, is a much larger instrument of the string family of instruments that are played with a bow. Unlike the violin, the music for the 'cello is played in the bass clef and sometimes the "C" clef, which is a movable clef, depending on the instrument for which the music is written in the "C" clef.

In modern times, the main ones used in the Western world of music, would be the violin, viola, violoncello and string bass.

I'll be happy to give you more information later, but am having some computer problems right now...

Thanks!

Haha...

Unknown008 told that you meant to change your computer, however now I know you didn't change it...

As a matter of fact, my computer was an old one, too. Last time, my elder brother who have already worked a long time took my computer. About 3 weeks later, he bought a new one for himself and left the old one to me...

My second elder brother blamed elder brother for his "selfish", but elder brother didn't change his mind...

Now I have to continue to use the old one, the same to you...

Thanks!

Clough
Jan 11, 2010, 01:49 AM
Are you still there, Wenjie? It looks like you've logged off from the site.

If you haven't heard the Pachelbel Canon in D, please click on the following links.

Pachelbel Canon in D - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&ei=-ONKS5msCsPGlAe5yMyKDQ&sa=X&oi=spellfullpage&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=2&ved=0CAYQvwUoAQ&&q=Pachelbel+Canon+in+D&spell=1)

Pachelbel Canon in D Major - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Pachelbel+Canon+in+D+Major&btnG=Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=)

It's one of the most popular pieces in all of classical music literature. You'll want to find the ones that are for a small chamber group or maybe an orchestra. Not the ones for the piano or guitar. Although, those other ones might be okay. I play it on the piano or organ and usually for weddings for which I play.

I'll have other things to tell you about it, once you've heard it. It contains one of the most prominent chord progressions used in music for a number of centuries that involves a number of other pieces.

Thanks!
