I'm currently running AVG free 9.0 alongside Spybot. Recently I've seen discussion about Avira which seems to indicate the Avira detects more problems (rootkits) than the AVG.
1. Has anyone run Avira with Spybot or noticed any compatibility problems?
2. Is Avira less of a resource hog than AVG?

Honestly dump BOTH AVG and spybot and move to Antivir and Malwarebytes.
Unfortunately neither AVG nor spybot have kept pace with the detection advancements of recent years and are seriously lagging behind.
As with most things tech, everything is always in flux.
